The Kansas Computerized Assessment (KCA) program has delivered millions of assessments over many years to Kansas students from grade 3 to high school. KCA is based on a client server model, which uses client software installed on Windows and Macintosh computers to deliver assessments ranging from formative to high-stakes summative tests. During the 2012–13 school year, KCA delivered more than 1.84 million summative test sessions, and 1.7 million formative test sessions. KCA has been enhanced over the past decade and now has capabilities to deliver adaptive assessments.
